July Poll Results

Last month, we asked whether you thought that many professional stylists had trouble understanding petite issues?. Out of all who replied, 42% believed that they did (and that they were only after your money...); 38% thought that they would if they were petite themselves; 9% thought that it was nonsense that they wouldn't "get it" (after all, they're professionals, right?) and another 9% chose other.

Readers, what do YOU think?  Do you agree with these results?

Do you ever listen to the so-called "rules"?

You've heard them:

"Petites shouldn't wear capris."

"Skirts and dresses should be no longer than right below the knee."

"Petites shouldn't wear big belts"

"Petites should only wear straight jeans."

etc, etc...

Do you listen to these rules at all, or, do you think many stylists (especially those who are not petite themselves) just don't understand the petite physique (or I should say, physiques, since the typical fashion magazine assumes that all petite women are not only under 5'4", but also smaller than a size 6.)? Do you think it should be necessary for stylists to understand all figures? Because I don't think they understand that "petite" women can be just as boy-shaped, just as curvy, as pear-shaped, etc...as average people.
