What do you think of Tavi's outfit?

Fourteen-year-old blogger, Tavi  (Style Rookie), posted a picture of herself in a Miu Miu sweater and blue skirt.  What do you think of it?  Is it flattering or not?  She is not a tall girl at all - I think she's like 5 feet tall or so.  Personally, I think she should have nixed the dress/skirt and wear leggings with the sweater instead.  What do you think?

Are people who're anti-size zero (unintentionally) racist?

Think about it....a lot of people say that "real women" aren't size zero, yet there are plenty, especially those of Asian descent who are. I guess all the size zero (or smaller!) women in Asia aren't real women then. And that's a lot of people. What do you think? Is it unintentional racism? Racism, period? Or just plain ol' sizism that people refuse to acknowledge because it's apparently ok to make fun of thin (especially short and thin) people (since there are non-Asian women who are just as tiny)?

Hi, I was wondering if you knew of any hosiery/tights/stockings that were a better fit for a petite girl. I've been looking for a nice pair of thigh highs and they're just too long but people only sell them one size fits all and having the lace top bunching at the top is not sexy or practical.

I would suggest looking at Atsui Tokyo, an online store based out of Seattle. The sizes are cut to fit women in the typical woman in Japan, so we're looking at between 4'11" and 5'5". Readers, do you have any other suggestions?

Shorter women with proportionately longer legs "most attractrive" - Study

No wonder guys find Scarlett Johansson attractive. According to this study, the most attractive women have larger chests, are petite with legs long for their height. But this study doesn't go into a lot of detail. How long is, well, "long"? And why are petite, curvy women with long legs more attractive than taller women? Wouldn't having longer legs and a larger chest be enough? We know how tall Scarlett is because we can find the info in interviews and on IMDB. But what if she was just some random girl? If we're shown a picture of her, taken in a white backdrop without props or other people, would we still know she's petite? Would she still fit the ideal? In any case, I guess that's why most people don't find models attractive. While their legs are generally longer in proportion to the rest of their body, they have no boobs and are tall.

(by the way, the ideal man is tall with shorter legs.)

Leg Lengthening Surgery Revisited

According to this article, 29-year-old British lawyer, Sara Vornamen had leg extension surgery to maker her taller. She was, like many petites, tired of not being taken seriously at work. This surgery increased her from a petite 5' even to 5'3". With an addition of only three inches, she is still petite, though not as short as she was at her "natural height." She still doesn't fit into clothes properly, though her legs may be long enough for "regular" length pants. Do you think it was worth it? I'm not so sure it is. First of all, she's still on the short side, and secondly, this surgery is not only expensive, but also painful and risky. Who wants screws in one's legs for months? And the scaring. Besides, most countries won't perform this surgery for cosmetic reasons. Sara had to travel to Russia for the procedure.
