Non-standard size designers/companies in the mainstream

Remember this video from a couple of years ago? It's time for another count of what the mainstream media have done with non-standard sized designers and non-standard size issues. Since the video was created in mid-2007, we've seen:

- Glamour Magazine (US edition)'s January 2008 issue discussed petite dressing beyond the mainstream media's standard view of what petite is (short and skinny)

- Canada's Plus Size Model search, which involved Lou Lou magazine

- Canadian designer, Cheri Milaney using "real women" as models for her show during Fashion Week

- ANTM's Cycle 13 being a cylce open to women 5'7" or shorter only

This is a good start, but I'd like to see more happen! And if anyone knows any additional MAINSTREAM MEDIA listings/stories which I didn't address, please let me know!

Another Call for Petite Designers!

If you are a fashion designer who specializes in that fit women 5'4" or shorter, Shorty Stories wants to profile you! Please send us an email with a link to your website as well as a short introduction and we'll be in touch with you!

Thanks!

Looking to add to the petite blog roll/site list!

Do you know or know of any designers who specialize in petites? What about petite bloggers? Shorty Stories is looking to add you to the list! Right now, the designers/labels I have include:

Balzac Clothing
Fernanda Carneiro
TLE Designs
House of Hsueh
Sweet Petites

Petite Blogs/Websites include:

Petite Fashionista
Serafina
Petite Personal Shopper
Isobella Jade's sites (she has several)

Please let Shorty Stories know about these people! It's important that we let the world know about petite issues! With designers, the preference is for designers that either SPECIALIZE in petites or are PETITE FRIENDLY, not brands with a petite line.

Thanks! :)
