Fashion/Media Challenge Follow-up

Three years ago, I posted a video challenging the fashion industry to use more non-traditional models and to profile non-traditional designers (i.e. plus, petite, petite-plus). Here is the new, follow-up vid:

Don't you think that it's sad so little has been done?

Apologies for the technical difficulties

Over the past few days, shorty-stories.com has had a few issues. Since Shorty Stories has pretty much exclusively been a blog for the past year or so, we have decided to get rid of our main site. When you type in www.shorty-stories.com, you'll now be automatically directed to our blog. All old Shorty Stories files, including old Shorty Stories stories have now been deleted in web format. We will, once in a while, post these old stories on the blog. We are also still looking for your own personal experiences about being petite, so please, keep these stories coming. Once again, we aplogize for the glitches over the past couple of days.

Survey at Prospere Magazine

Are you a Prospere Magazine reader? Yes, Shorty Stories' sister site is conducting a reader survey until the end of November. This is for Prospere Magazine to find out a bit more about its demographics so we can tailor advertising to the demographics. The survey closes at 11:59 pm on November 30.

Rumour Has It...

According to post from Jenny Feldman of Glamour Magazine last week, Seven will be launching an official petite line of jeans this fall. When I first read it, I was a little surprised, because I own two pairs of Seven jeans that are of a shorter inseam (30" or so). However, Jenny said that these jeans are true petites. In other words, in addition to a shorter inseam, it will also have a shorter rise. If this is true, then GOOD FOR YOU, SEVEN!!! I'm so glad a big name brand is joining the petite world. We shouldn't be hiding the fact that petites exist.

I've emailed a few petite stores to clarify this. Stay tuned for more details.

Also, Shorty Stories now has a fan page on Facebook!
