Little People getting surgery to be closer to "normal" height
Just read a story about a girl with dwarfism who got height surgery to be closer to "normal" height. Without the surgery, she'd be around 4'2" or so, and now, she's around 4'8". Another girl in the article had her height extended even more - 5'2". Personally, I think the increase to 5'2" is a bit much - a "nice to have." If I had been born with dwarfism, I'd only want to be tall enough to reach the stove safely or drive a car without the need of brake extensions. 5'2" is much above that line. Going up to 5'2", to me, is more aesthetic than anything (even if it isn't even close to "tall."). Most women who are around 5'2" can fit into petite clothes without the need of alterations. Also, at 5'2", one is no longer considered to be a "Little Person." (Dwarfism is define as being shorter than 4'10"). She'd just be someone who carries the dwarfism gene.
