Petite Issues in the media
I only managed to catch a little bit of What not to Wear this past Friday, but as Chiquitagirl mentioned in a reply to my post from Friday, Stacey London mentioned that it's very difficult to find decent petite clothes that isn't frumpy or in an unflattering pattern/colour. If it's the same episode I saw, the makeoveree had never worn petite clothes before. It's nice to see someone who is pretty influential in the fashion television world to say something like this (but then again, WNTW is pretty pro-petite sizes.) I just wish that other fashion/makeover shows, magazines, etc would do the same. Perhaps even focus on very small brands that are either made specially for petites or are very petite friendly. As I've said time and time again, shortness seems to be ignored and overshadowed by plus-sizes. People seem to forget that being short has its challenges with clothing as well. It's not enough to just go to the tailor's, it's best that clothes fit us as well as possible. But you rarely hear anyone in the media give the type of advice Stacey did on Friday (or on any episode of WNTW where the makeoveree is petite. I think there have only been one or two petite makeoverees that didn't buy petite sizes at all.) Why do you think that is?
