Petites and eating disorders
Have there ever been studies done specifically on shorter women and eating disorders and what size they aspire to be? Most of the anti-size zero talk these days seem to focus on average height or taller women trying to look like models by whittling themselves down to a zero. Since models are, for the most part, very tall (okay, Kate Moss and a handful of others are on the taller side of the average range, but they're an exception to the rule). Because of this, there are tons of anti-size zero sites, articles and blogs everywhere. But what about us petite women with eating disorders? Gymnasts and many dancers are on the petite side, and many have eating disorders. The media don't seem to be all over them. It's fashion, fashion, fashion and nothing but fashion. And since many of these girls are probably naturally zero or close to it, what size are they aspiring to be, or do they aspire to be a size? And how on earth do they find clothes after they lose weight? 00 is the smallest size available, if to properly achieve the modelesque size 0 look, these petite women must be 0000s. And 0000 doesn't exist.
