Alterations Needed has an interesting post on small sizes and sales - usually the very smallest can never find anything more than 30% off. This is true, at least in my neck of the woods. I could never understand what people are talking about when they say that they see tons of sizes 00 to 2 on sale racks. This certainly isn't the case in Toronto (or in New York, for that matter). The most sizes I see generally range between 4 and 10.
Is this the case with your area? Or can you find really small sizes fairly easily, even on sale?

Boxing Day Update!
Well, many stores have reduced their sales even further, and it isn't just for today, but for the rest of the week. I bought two beautiful dresses from Femme de Carriere. They were still pretty splurgy even after 50% off (nor are they petite sizes), but they're investment pieces, great for work and evenings out (especially the little black dress!
The belt that came with the dress was hideously HUGE, sadly....about as big as my waist. However, it was fine, length-wise. I had intended to buy another belt, a skinnier one, from Jacob, but their belts do not come in extra small. I had expected that my waist would be too small for the smallest size, but I didn't think that it would be some 3 or 4 sizes too small! It's interesting that this store sells things in size zero, yet their belts start at size 5/6!
