January Poll Results: What would you like to see happen in the petite community?



Last month, we asked readers what they'd like to see happen in the petite community this year.  Overwhelmingly, at 73%, our readers said:

Better selection (in terms of colour, style, etc...)

As for the rest of the results:

• 14% want to see more petite-exclusive designers (I do too! Especially want to see them discussed in mainstream media)
• 7% said more growth in the petite community
• 4% said more press about petite issues in mainstream media

November Poll Results and J. Crew Rumours!

The question last month asked readers whether they participated in petite fashion challenges (which reminds me:  The December petite fashion challenge, hosted by Curls and Pearls, goes live TOMORROW EVENING!)...results are as follows:

I was actually surprised at the number of non-petites who participated - 45% said that they'd like to take part in a challenge, but don't because they aren't petite. 36% have done all of them so far and another 18% are not familiar with them (I guess these people just drop in and aren't regular petite blog readers!)



So apparently, the rumour now is that the first Toronto J.Crew store is opening at Yorkdale!  The first Canadian Victoria's Secret store was ALSO at Yorkdale..

Not ALL understand 'petite'

Last month, we asked: Can a person just be short, and not "petite"?


Though I'm happy that 44% know that true petite is 5'4" and below (regardless of size), over a quarter of you (27%) believe that "petite" only refers to those who're short AND skinny (c'mon people, get with it! That is NOT the case! Actress Nikki Blonsky is PETITE!! She's under 5 feet tall!) 22% noted that, however, people with short necks but average torsos and legs might aren't "petite" in the clothing sense. 5% of you chose other.

November Survey Results

Last month's question: Banana Republic has just added XXSP to their petite line-up. What do you think about this?

The results:

29.1% said: "It's about time!"

45.8% said: "Ehh....another case of vanity sizing. XXS was an XS about three or four years ago."

6.3% said: "XXS for petites only? What about taller skinny people?"

16.7% said: "It'll only make people want to be thinner. Bad idea."

2.1% said: "Other"
