A Letter To Average and Tall People (warning: contains more granny-store complaints!)

Dear Average and Tall People:

I'm sure you've heard this before, but let me remind you again: STOP RECOMMENDING CONSERVATIVE GRANNY STORES, THE JUNIORS DEPARTMENT AND WORST OF ALL, KIDS' DEPARTMENTS! I recently came across a post at Price Scope where a young petite woman of 4'11" asked where she could get reasonable business type clothes. I can't believe someone suggested, out of all places, TALBOTS! One poster just said that the clothes are a "bit conservative, (which is not necessarily a bad thing)." Talbots isn't "a bit conservative," it's more than a bit granny! The original poster says she's going to do an internship, which probably means that she's in her 20s. You just don't recommend a girl of that age to shop there. That's just wrong! I mean, unless Talbots changes its styles, it just won't happen!

And another thing, please don't recommend the juniors department or worse, the little girls' section either. Do you know WHY short women have it hard in a corporate environment, harder than average and taller women? Because we just don't look as "presentable" or "professional"! And how could you expect us to look "presentable" and "professional" if the clothes either don't fit us properly (who wants jackets that are a little too long and/or pants that look a little baggy?) or just aren't right for the office (i.e. most juniors clothes....and even the "professional" looking juniors clothes are too long or don't fit right. Juniors clothes are just cut a little bit straighter. Petite women aren't all skinny and straight, so juniors clothes might not fit us even after pants are shortened. And yeah, little girls' clothes are definitely out of the question for work).

Hope you guys actually get it. If not, well, maybe you should just be a little more observant.

Thanks
